The Albanian Heritage Foundation was established in 2023, driven by a dedicated group of 12 board members who share a passion for preserving and promoting Albanian culture in Columbus, Ohio. Led by President Gary Staravecka and Vice President Dukagjin Blakaj, the organization has quickly become a cornerstone for the Albanian community in the region. With a clear mission to empower and unite Albanians, the foundation aims to create a vibrant, inclusive environment that celebrates the rich cultural heritage of its members. Recognizing that education is vital for cultural preservation, the foundation established the Albanian Heritage School in June 2024, which currently serves around 28 students. This initiative reflects the organization’s commitment to nurturing a sense of identity and pride among the youth.
